The Dumas EMS was founded in 1971. It was owned by city of Dumas and subsidized by Desha county was the only certified ALS service in the county.
We are primary service for the area of Desha as well as parts of Lincoln, Drew and Arkansas counties.
Our Fleet consists of three type III ambulances all certified at the paramedic level.
We have two full time paramedic crews providing 24-hour coverage with a total of eight EMT's and paramedics. The average number of run per month is 104. We also have a continuing in-house education program.
